| Here are two kits that are a lot of fun to
build and can be used in a number of Amateur Radio projects. Not sure what
to do with a VFO? Well included with the VFO kits are schematics for a
transmitter and receiver. Or use the VFO for your own projects. The circuit is a Clapp Oscillator and the designer is proud of the "triple-pot" circuit design. Two of the pots are trimmers, used to select the segment of the band that you want to tune. Select just the CW portion of the band, SSB portion, or the entire band. The narrow slice of the band that you select, the finer the main tuning will be, which can eliminate a costly ten turn pot, vernier dials, etc. These are ideal VFO's for QRP circuits. |

| Tunes from 7.00 Mhz to about 7.300 Mhz. Included is
information for making the circuit into a 30 meter VFO with some
additional parts that you supply. Provision has been made for RIT/XIT
offset. Buffered output: board size is 1.6" x 3.0". Operates on
12VDC.

| Compact and easy to build. Receives
the entire band, CW and SSB. Great for monitoring W1AW code practice,
listening to your favorite nets, etc. Small enough to take with you on
field day. Operates on a 9 volt battery, and has audio output enough to
drive a speaker, or use the a headset. These circuits employ a unique three pot varator tuning system. you can set the ends of the band that you wish to receive, or receive all of the band. The advantage to receiving just a portion (say just CW or just SSB) is that the tuning becomes much more precise and can eliminate adding an expensive ten turn potentiometer in order to achieve find tuning. The PC board size is 3" x 3", which will fit nicely in a number of cases of your choice. You will need to add your own knobs (2), speaker, case, and antenna connector. You can use an SO-239, RCA connector, or BNC connector. |

PLL-VFO Experimenter Package 440-Khz to 185-Mhz! YOUR IMAGINATION IS THE ONLY LIMIT |

This new VFO circuit is a two part(two board) system for the experimenter. The
bottom board is he PLL and VFO, complete with an area for the experimenter to
add whatever circuit he desires, such as a transmitter, receiver, transceiver,
etc. The top board is a controller with a keypad for frequency entry and an LCD
digital readout that displays frequency. The top board controller communicates
with the MC145170 chip. This kit is not intended to be a complete kit. the
circuit pair is intended to provide a highly flexible platform for the
experimenter, student, or Ham radio builder. the circuits provide Rock Solid
frequency control with very easy to use human interface(that's fancy for push
bottom button keypad and readout). Included are circuit ideas, in schematic
form, including a 2 Watt 40 Meter transmitter and receiver circuit. The
prototyping area is large. The user can build a simple or multi-stage AM or FM
receiver, CW rig, signal generator, etc. The circuit may be used with various oscillator
designs from 440-Khz to 185-Mhz. The circuit employs an MC145170 PLL IC which
provides drift free tuning with considerable stability. Operates on 12 Volts DC.
You will need up to 100 Ma to power the kit plus don't forget to add enough
current capability to handle your own addition to the PC board. This kit is not recommended for beginners. |
