Using a viewer to check photoplot files allows you to look for irregularities in the Gerber output. Then if a problem is found, the board can be corrected and a new output generated. This can save time and money!
IvexViewTM has the same look and feel as WinDraft® and WinBoard®. In addition to previewing files, you can manage multi-layer designs in one job file, highlight D-Codes, and print positive or negative outputs.

The Gerber photoplot output is then used to make "film". Just like
film from a camera, the film produced from the photoplot is used to expose
the printed circuit board. This is the start of the manufacturing process.
Film is made for each "layer" of the board, such as component side copper layer, solder side copper layer, silk screen layers, solder mask layers and so on. Making film for each layer can be expensive. If there are any errors in the film, the board will be manufactured incorrectly. Using a viewer to pre-view the photoplot files, you can look for irregularities in the Gerber output. Then if a problem is found, the board can be corrected and a new output generated. This can save you time and money! Formats |
