Select and use True-Type Fonts throughout the program. With True-Type fonts you can choose the font and point size for each text object to ensure clear and easy readability of your schematic. Drag parts from the visual Part Palette directly onto your worksheet. Placing components couldn't be faster or easier. Connect with wires, buses, labels, and ports. Draw lines, circles and boxes in four drawing styles (90 and 45 degree, arc, and any angle). Create and Manage Complex Designs If your design is large, you need special design management features to simplify the project. WinDraft uses a hierarchical approach to organize large designs by partitioning them into smaller, more manageable parts. WinDraft automatically sets up connections between hierarchical sheets at different levels.

Editing:

• Context sensitive editing speeds the design process. A single mouse click on an object allows object movement, and a double click brings up a dialog box to change parameters.
• Right mouse click editing brings up pop-up dialog boxes.
• Maintain connections with automatic rubberbanding as you drag selected parts.
• Find and replace text on a sheet, and update library parts in the schematic.

• Auto-Part insert allows the designer to easily insert components onto an existing wire. Just select a part, place it on a wire, and the program automatically breaks the wire and connects the part.
• Receive visual verification of a connection when wiring to a pin. This can help you avoid wiring mistakes.
• Automatic Junction placement connects wires when they terminate on another wire.

Control your design from start to finish by assigning net properties for printed circuit board (PCB) layout directly in the schematic. Set global defaults for the entire design, or establish individual net properties for any specified net.

Parts Library and Editor

WinDraft comes complete with over 10,000 analog and digital parts, including ANSI/IEEE formats. In addition, the program imports OrCAD/SDT libraries from SDT IV and SDT 386. A graphical library editor and title block editor are included. A library part may be created from scratch, or import (borrow) the shape from other parts to reduce the time required to build a new part.

Post-Processing Utilities
